Christchurch Park (and Mansion!)
Christchurch Park is Ipswich’s largest (82 acres) town centre green space and is a designated County Wildlife Site and is located in one of Ipswich's conservation areas. It is on the English Heritage register of historic parks and gardens of special historic interest. It has a variety of habitats including ponds, grassland, native and non-native plants, and woodland. The park itself is Grade II listed and features 14 other listed structures.
The park is also where you will find a beautiful and historical Tudor Christchurch Mansion, which dates back 500 years and has plenty to offer visitors from the building itself to the collections it houses and the exhibitions it hosts. See the open times and what’s on here:
Holywells Park
Holywells is a beautiful open space, with stunning trees and ponds - and is a short walk from our Fore Hamlet and Waterfront apartments.
The park extends over 28 hectares of picturesque grounds, with a history dating back to medieval times. It is a County Wildlife Site and a Conservation Area with two listed buildings – the Stable Block and Conservatory – and is on the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. Holywells has also been designated a Regionally Important Geodiversity Site (RIGS).
